Films and novels can only offer representations of "history". For life ninety years ago was very different.
Important historical characters like AL CAPONE and ELIOT NESS are fading out of "our collective memory".

THE TASK :
To answer to this question, the task which will permit you to “experience” this important era in history is two-fold:
.First, write a simulated “diary scrapbook” with a co-writer whom you will choose in class.
....You will be writing from the point of view of a famous historical figure such as Al Capone, Eliot Ness or one of their acquaintances.
....You will also present your diary scrapbook to the class.
.Then, use this experience to publicly debate and answer the question.
