David Lloyd George DAVID LLOYD GEORGE

David Lloyd George was a British statesman who guided Britain and the Commonwealth through World War One/Liberal Party Prime Minister between 1916-1922.

The Liberal Party = in favour of reducing the power of the Crown and increasing the power of the Parliament. They favoured social reform, personal liberty, reducing the powers of the Crown and the Church of England. On the contray, the Labour Party grew out of the trade union movement and socialist political parties of the 19th century.

Chancellor of the Exchequer (1908 to 1915) = the Chancellor of the Exchequer is the title held by the British cabinet minister responsible for all economic and financial matters/the position is considered one of the four Great Offices of State: the most powerful office in British politics after the Prime Ministership.

The Great Offices of State in the United Kingdom are the four most senior and prestigious posts in the British government. They are Prime Minister (the Prime Minister is the monarch's principal advisor). Chancellor of the Exchequer, Home Secretary and Foreign Secretary.

 

 

EDWARD VII

Edward VII (Albert Edward; 9 November 1841 – 6 May 1910 ) was King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and the Emperor of India/ the son of Queen Victoria/Edward's reign, now called the Edwardian period , saw the first official recognition of the office of the Prime Minister .

 

GEORGE V

George V (George Frederick Ernest Albert; 3 June 1865 - 20 January 1936 )/ as well as being King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain / George was also the Emperor of India. George reigned from 6 May 1910 through World War I (1914-1918) until his death in 1936.
