Judge: The defense lawyer Thomas Coolpeper may now call his/her first witness.

Defense Lawyer: First I call the defendant, Lady Buckingham .

Lady Buckingham: I do.

Objections Lawyers may object to questions or answers provided by the other side. There can be a variety of reasons for these objections. The Court will allow them as long as they have merit and do not fundamentally interfere with the progress of the trial. If the judge agrees with an objection, he states, "Sustained." If the judge disagrees with an objection, he states, "Overruled."
