Defense Lawyer: Your honour, I will call X...

Defense Lawyer: Thank you, (name of the witness). That is all, your honor. The defense rests.

 

Objections Lawyers may object to questions or answers provided by the other side. There can be a variety of reasons for these objections. The Court will allow them as long as they have merit and do not fundamentally interfere with the progress of the trial. If the judge agrees with an objection, he states, "Sustained." If the judge disagrees with an objection, he states, "Overruled."
